THE MANSION BLOCK, WEST KENSINGTON
The Mansion Block, West Kensington
The co-ordination, project management, renovation, and interior design of this dated top-floor mansion flat in West Kensington presented a challenge that Jude welcomed with enthusiasm.
Recognising the immense potential of the underutilised space, the entire apartment was stripped back to bare walls and completely reconfigured.
The kitchen was relocated from the back to the front of the apartment to create a more functional and fluid living space.
All doorways were heightened, and tall glass hallway doors leading to the sitting room were commissioned to enhance light and openness.
The conversion of the 700 sq ft loft space, along with the installation of a bespoke internal staircase, allowed for the addition of two further bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms upstairs.
Careful consideration was given to the apartment's flow, ensuring the design and panelling remained sympathetic to the age and character of this iconic 1920s building.
A textural palette of neutrals, browns, golds, and blues was chosen to imbue calm, serenity, and harmonious flow throughout the various rooms.
The selection of aged brass hardware and beautiful statement lighting further enhanced the subtle elegance of this London pied-à-terre.
