THE KITCHEN, PARKSIDE

The Kitchen, Parkside

This recent kitchen renovation project on Parkside, SW19 was a true transformation of a space that was once dull and outdated. The focal point of the renovation was the replacement of a dining area picture window with stunning bespoke French doors that lead out to the beautiful garden, flooding the space with natural light and creating a seamless indoor-outdoor connection. These doors, together with much improved and more open glass panelled doors from hallway to kitchen, transformed this side of the house from a rather underwhelming and under-utilised space into an overwhelmingly beautiful light filled open plan kitchen and social space.

The contemporary shaker style kitchen designed in conjunction with Kitchens by Holloways was a perfect choice for this project, with its simple, clean lines and timeless appeal.

Contemporary elements, including Armac Martin’s gorgeous range of antique brass knobs and handles complimented the traditional shaker style cabinetry, creating a perfect balance between old and new.

Inspired by my clients’ large and rather lovely Scottish Moors painting, I introduced complementary fabrics in various shades and textures of green, blue and heathery purples.

As a designer, it’s always a bonus if clients have treasured artworks, furnishings or ornaments they’d like to incorporate within their project.

A secondary artwork that I’d spotted at Ruup and Form, textural in format,  was just the perfect piece for the wall opposite.

This gorgeous kitchen was a pleasure to design and install for my delightful clients.  The room has most certainly now secured it’s place as the true heart of this Parkside family home.
